Workshops and Tutorials
Full proposal submission deadline: March 31st, 2021
For facilitating fruitful scientific discussions and new collaborations, workshops and tutorials play an important role in the conference. Workshops are divided into two categories: Panel workshops and Open workshops. A panel workshop is organized around a specific topic or topics in haptics research and a panel of invited speakers gives talks and participates in discussion sessions on the topic. An open workshop is also organized around a specific topic or topics with the difference that organizers call for speakers who are willing to give a talk concerning the topic. In both categories, the organizers are asked to supply a final program of the workshop and a final list of speakers.
Tutorials are presentations in established research areas aimed to provide hands-on experience. They should be focused on a single topic and should be presented by two or three experts in the field.
Impact of COVID-19
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and taking scheduling considerations into account, workshops and tutorials in the 2021 WHC will be offered virtually (online) before and/or after the conference as half-day or full-day events. Organizers of Workshops and Tutorials are asked to pay special attention to exploring ways to stimulate engagement and interaction with the remote audience.
The World Haptics Conference 2021 solicits proposals for workshops and tutorials in a two-stage screening process, involving Expression of Interest (EOI) and Full Proposal submissions. The EOIs are due on January 15, 2021. Once selected by an adjudicating committee, the full proposals are due on March 31, 2021.
To submit your full proposal, please email workshops@2021.worldhaptics.org.
